AMB-FUBINACA, sometimes known as MMB-FUBINACA and FUB-AMB, is a potent synthetic cannabinoid of the indazole class.

It has the formal and systematic name methyl (2S)-2-{[1-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]indazole-3-carbonyl]amino}-3-methylbutanoate, has a molar mass of 383.42 grams and empirical formula C21H22FN3O3.

AMB-FUBINACA is an analogue of AB-FUBINACA.  The terminal amide in the valine in AB-FUBINACA is altered and replaced with a methyl ester to produce AMB-FUBINACA.

It is a potent and full agonist at human cannabinoid receptor CB1. THC, the primary psychoactive constituent of herbal marijuana, is a partial agonist. The full agonism of the synthetics gives them a stronger effect than herbal marijuana. However it also makes them dangerous, with overdose and death a possibility.

The effect on human health of long term or short term recreational use of AMB-FUBINACA is unknown.

It is a fluorinated synthetic cannabinoid. These compounds may be particularily noxious if vaporised and inhaled using a hot method. The inclusion of a fluorine atom means these compounds have much higher boiling points than other comparable synthetic cannabinoids. They undergo thermochemical degradation on heating, producing reactive fluorinated decomposition products. These are likely to be very harmful to the lungs and systemic organs. If one is intent on using AMB-FUBINACA in this manner it is better to use a cold vaporisation process. Note than nearly all commercial “E-cigarette” vaporisers use heat in order to vaporise the propylene glycol and drug solution.

AMB-FUBINACA is not fit for human or animal consumption.

Unverifiable online reports give us some indication of the effects of this compound.

It is reported as being extremely potent, but very short acting. Users have reported returning to a sober state 30 -40 minutes after administration.

AMB-FUBINACA is reported to enhance the current emotional state of the user. This may result in feelings of elation or overwhelming euphoria. It can also exacerbate negative mental states such as anxiety or paranoia. Some users have reported enhanced conceptual thinking and increased appreciation of music.

AMB-FUBINACA also has the potential to generate open eyed and closed eyed visuals and some minor psychedelic

The “body high” is reported as being a pleasant sensation that spreads throughout the body. This tingling sensation is present throughout, and will rise in intensity from the onset of the experience. Some users find this to be uncomfortable or overwhelming.

AMB-FUBINACA is apparently heavily sedating. Other physical effects which have been reported include loss of motor control, nausea and dehydration.

Synthetic cannabinoids are known to induce states of acute psychosis. They may also exacerbate current mental health problems or trigger a latent mental health disorder. This is a particular danger in young adults and adolescents.

AMB-FUBINACA belongs to a newer subset of the synthetic cannabinoids which are particularly potent. This means a very tiny amount is an appropriate dose. Overdose is a real risk, and they have been linked to a number of hospitalisations due to seizures, and a number of deaths around the world. Users are encouraged to do appropriate research with respect to appropriate dose, starting with the lowest possible dose using milligram scales and volumetric dilution.
