AMB-CHMINACA, alternatively named MA-CHMINACA, is a synthetic cannabinoid of the indazole class that is a highly potent and full agonist at CB1.

It has the formal and systematic IUPAC name Methyl 2-{[1-(cyclohexylmethyl)-1H-indazole-3-carbonyl]amino}-3-methylbutanoate, a molar mass of 371 grams and an empirical formula C21H29N3O3.

Structurally AMB-CHMINACA is an analogue of AB-CHMINACA.

Unlike herbal marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids have a much stronger effect. The full agonism of AMB-CHMINACA is stands contrast to the partial agonist action of THC. This means that it is possible to overdose on synthetic cannabinoids unlike herbal marijuana. Their use has been linked to seizures, hospitalisations and deaths around the world. The indazole and indole class are of particular potency and so also potentially more dangerous than some previous cannabinoids.

The health implications of short term or long term recreational use of synthetic cannabinoids such as AMB-CHMINACA remains unknown. There are no toxicological studies in to the use of AMB-CHMINACA in humans.

AMB-CHMINACA is not fit for human or animal consumption.

Online reports, although unverifiable, give an indication of the effects of this compound.

AMB-CHMINACA is reported as being one of the strongest of the synthetic cannabinoids, which are already known to be highly potent.

Very small amounts are reportedly used compared even to other potent cannabinoids. Some discussion online suggests this compound may pose a greater risk than some of its analogues due to risk of overdose.

Users report a number of physical effects of the “high”

The body high is described in reports as being a tingling sensation that envelops the entire body that rises and continues to amplify to the peak of the experience. AMB-CHMINACA is reported as being heavily sedating in nature and can suppress full motor control. Other physical effects that have been reported include nausea, vomiting and dehydration. Acute states of vertigo and a spinning sensation may be apparent. Even at moderate doses some users report the feeling that they are falling which can be highly uncomfortable. It has been associated with a feeling of increase or decrease in the individual’s perception of their weight.

Cognitive effects of AMB-CHMINACA which have been reported include slowing of thought and suppression of the ability to process information. AMB-CHMINACA is said to enhance the emotions the user may be feeling whether positive or negative. This may lead to states of euphoria and extreme laughter or alternatively in can induce experiences of extreme paranoia, agitation and anxiety. Use of synthetic cannabinoids such as AMB-CHMINACA may enhance the ability of the person to become fully immersed in the experience of or execution of even mundane tasks.

Use of synthetic cannabinoids is associated with acute psychotic states. This is particularly the case if high doses are used or if the substance is used continually over extended periods of time. Use of cannabinoids may put the individual at greater risk of developing mental illness. Adolescents and young adults are at greater risk of developing schizophrenia if using these compounds. They are also known to be addictive and cause uncomfortable cravings and withdrawal effects on cessation of use.
